Our Story & Mission
Rooted in the Quaker tradition of simplicity, peace, and community, Gagolosi Friends Church is a spiritual home for the people of Maragoli.
A Legacy of Faith
From humble beginnings to a beacon of hope in Maragoli.
Gagolosi Friends Church was established by Pastor Daudi Kadenge, a respected evangelist from the Maragoli region. Following the Quaker mission established in Kaimosi in 1902, Pastor Kadenge spread the gospel from Gahumbwa to Nabwani, eventually planting the seed of faith here in Gagolosi.

The previous church structure that served generations.
The church was selected by the government as a key site for early childhood education outreach campaigns. These initiatives aimed to improve literacy in the region. The church became not just a place of worship, but a center for learning and community empowerment.
As the congregation grew and educational activities expanded, the original small plot of land became insufficient. The community needed a larger space to accommodate the vision of a holistic center for faith and development.

Mr. Azirikam Mudika Lubia, a neighbor and fellow Quaker, donated a portion of his ancestral family land to the church. This act of faith secured the future of Gagolosi Friends Church, allowing for the construction of the new sanctuary we are building today.

With the foundation laid and walls rising, we are now in the crucial phase of completing the sanctuary. The new structure stands as a testament to the community's resilience and faith.

The Quaker Way (SPICES)
As a Friends Church (Quakers), we believe in the "Inward Light" of God in every person. Our faith is guided by SPICES - six core principles that define our practice and witness.
- •Simplicity: We focus on what truly matters, living humbly as servants of God.
- •Peace: We believe peace is possible through goodwill and justice for all.
- •Integrity: Our words and actions reflect our truest selves and God's truth.
- •Community: We believe each person is precious; we need one another.
- •Equality: All people are made in God's image; no race, tribe, or language is superior.
- •Stewardship: We care for God's gifts with honesty, prudence, and accountability.
